It All Starts With a Feeling, Doesn't It?
Maybe it's a whisper during Savasana. A longing for something deeper after a class. A feeling that there's more to your path than your current routine.
That feeling is real. It's a call to connect, to grow, and to share. Here, in the place where yoga was born, we've created a space for you to answer that call.
Transform your practice, find your voice, and become a Yoga Alliance-certified teacher in the heart of the Himalayas.
So, What Exactly Is a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training?
Let's be honest, the name sounds a bit formal. But what it really means is committing to a month of transformation. It's the globally recognized first step that takes you from being a student on the mat to a guide at the front of the room.
Think of it as a deep dive. You'll move beyond just the poses and explore the heart of yoga—the breath, the philosophy, the anatomy, and the art of safely guiding others. By the end, you'll hold more than a certificate (the official RYT 200 one from Yoga Alliance); you'll hold the confidence and knowledge to begin your teaching journey.
It's the key that unlocks the door to sharing this beautiful practice with the world.
Why Rishikesh? (Hint: It's More Than Just a Pretty Place)
You can get a yoga certificate anywhere. But you can only come to Rishikesh to experience the soul of yoga. This town isn't just a backdrop; it's an active participant in your journey.
You don't just see the Himalayas; you wake up and breathe in their ancient stillness. You don't just look at the holy Ganges; you meditate to its constant, soothing hum. The air here is thick with thousands of years of devotion. It's a feeling that seeps into your bones and quiets your mind in a way no studio at home ever could.
"I thought I was just signing up for a course, you know? Get the paper, learn the skills. I didn't realize I was signing up to meet myself. Meditating by the river as the sun came up… something inside me just clicked. It's not an exaggeration to say I left a different person."
— Elena, Spain
Is This For Me? (Let's See if This Sounds Like You)
We all come to the mat for different reasons. See if any of these resonate with that feeling you've been having.
- You've Fallen in Love with Yoga... and You're Ready for More. Your weekly classes are the highlight of your week, but you know there's a whole universe of yoga that you're just not getting. You're curious, you're hungry, and you're ready to go all in.
- You Dream of Teaching. The thought of guiding a class, sharing what you love, and creating a peaceful space for others lights you up inside. You just need the tools, the confidence, and the certification to make it real.
- You're on a Journey of Self-Discovery. Maybe you're at a crossroads in life, healing from something, or just feeling a deep need to reconnect with yourself, away from the noise of daily life. This is a journey inward as much as it is a training.
- You're Ready to Align Your Work with Your Soul. Your current job pays the bills, but it doesn't feed your spirit. You're craving a life that feels more authentic, more meaningful, and more aligned with your values.
Still unsure? It's a big decision! Let's hop on a no-pressure call to chat about it.

Words from People Who Have Sat Where You Are
"It felt like coming home. I was so nervous to travel to India alone, but the moment I arrived, I felt safe. It's more than a school; it's a family. The teachers, the staff, the other students… we all bonded so deeply. I still talk to my 'Rishikesh family' every week!"
— Sophia Müller, Germany
"The 'Aha!' moments are real. You can do yoga for 10 years and not understand it the way you will after this month. For me, it was in Yogi Sanjeev's philosophy class. The way he explained the Sutras just... landed. It changed not just my practice, but how I see my life. That's what you get here."
— David Chen, California, USA
You've Got Questions, We've Got Honest Answers
Is 200 hours really enough to be a teacher?
It's the perfect starting point! It gives you the foundation, the confidence, and the qualification to start. The best teachers are lifelong students, and this course is your first, most important step on that beautiful path.
I'm not super flexible/strong. Can I still do this?
Yes! This isn't about being able to do a perfect handstand. It's about your willingness to learn and grow. The training will meet you where you are and help you build strength and flexibility—both physically and mentally.
What is the difference between 200-hour and 300-hour yoga TTC?
A 200-hour TTC is the foundational course for beginners to become teachers. A 300-hour TTC is an advanced course for those who have already completed a 200-hour certification. Completing both allows you to register as an RYT-500.
What should I pack for my training?
We will send a detailed packing list upon registration. Key items include comfortable yoga clothes, a reusable water bottle, a journal, an open mind, modest clothing for town visits, any personal medications, and a universal travel adapter.
